Welcome to the website for the UK's 47 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs).

If you are planning a visit, looking for a job, or just want to find out more about your AONBs, our website can help.

2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity, and people all over the world are working to safeguard this irreplaceable natural wealth and reduce biodiversity loss.

AONBs are home to some of the UK's most exquisite and unusual wildlife species. It is this rich biodiversity that makes them special.

The family of AONBs supports the aims of the International Year of Biodiversity.

Biodiversity is Life.

This Database draws together the Actions planned by all the AONBs in England into a single searchable data resource, allowing the rapid identification of projects under specific themes across the country.
